Blancpain and Swatch Dive Together: Presenting the Scuba Fifty Fathoms at Just $400!
The awaited collaboration that had watch enthusiasts buzzing with excitement is now unveiled. In the recent past, Swatch unveiled its astounding partnership with Omega, resulting in the release of the affordable, celestial-themed MoonSwatch, priced at a modest $260. This year, Swatch has upped the ante even more.
Blancpain gets the Swatch twist!
In a stellar collaboration, Swatch and Blancpain introduce the Swatch & Blancpain Scuba Fifty Fathoms series. The lineup consists of five remarkable designs, each preserving the signature attributes of the Fifty Fathoms range: superior water-resistant capacity, unmatched clarity, precise mechanical operations, a dependable rotating bezel, and resistance to magnetism.
The term "Scuba" instantly evokes images of the profound depths of the seas. Embracing this sentiment, every watch design is a salute to one of Earth’s significant oceans and the mesmerizing marine beings called nudibranchs found within. These timepieces bear the proud names of our planet's magnificent oceans: ANTARCTIC, ARCTIC, ATLANTIC, INDIAN, and PACIFIC.
As per the official announcement from Swatch, this collection, which is NOT a limited edition, will be up for grabs at specific Swatch locations from 9 September 2023 onwards. But there's a twist - customers can only acquire one watch from each outlet daily.
Reflecting on the massive success and popularity of the MoonSwatch, it raises the question: Are we on the verge of witnessing a sequel of fan frenzy with this launch?
Swatch x Blancpain's Scuba Fifty Fathoms Series..
Feast your eyes on the exquisite ARCTIC OCEAN edition! The watch comes with a subtle beige backdrop contrasted by vibrant hues of red and yellow. Emblazoned with the words "NO RADIATIONS," it playfully recalls the vintage diver watches of the 1960s. This design element is reminiscent of Blancpain's historic achievement – crafting the first diver’s watch that was gentle on the skin. The vivacious red marine illustration lends a splash of color to both the strap and case. And let's not forget the artistic rendition gracing the rear, showcasing a hint of the watch's intricate mechanism!
Introducing the captivating ATLANTIC OCEAN timepiece. The rich, deep blues of this watch evoke memories of the majestic Atlantic and its rolling waves. Its hue draws inspiration from the Glaucus Atlanticus, often referred to as the 'blue dragon' – a fascinating creature that effortlessly drifts along the Atlantic currents. The watch boasts a striking blue casing, a dynamic color-shifting dial with a convenient date window nestled between the 4 and 5 markers, and a strap ingeniously crafted from repurposed fishing nets. But there's more: the reverse side features a charming illustration of the blue dragon. And, ensuring its precision and reliability is the acclaimed SISTEM51 movement.
Step into the icy allure of the ANTARCTIC OCEAN timepiece. Crafted as a tribute to Earth's frostiest regions, it boasts an intriguing feature that signals when it's touched by water. Elegantly placed at the 6 o'clock position on its subdued gray dial, this function harks back to iconic military diving watches—a feature adored by aficionados and collectors alike. The watch harnesses the power of the dependable SISTEM51 mechanism. When you turn it over, it reveals a captivating representation of the Tritoniella Belli, an organism that mirrors the tumultuous beauty of an iceberg. The serene color palette influences the entirety of the watch's aesthetics—from the case and dial to a strap innovatively fashioned from recycled fishing nets.
Discover the vibrant allure of the INDIAN OCEAN timepiece. Donning a radiant green case, dial, and strap, crafted from repurposed fishing nets, this watch is an ode to shimmering waters teeming with marine biodiversity. Its myriad hues transport the wearer to visions of thriving coral reefs and diverse marine fauna, specifically the Nembrotha Kubaryana—a sea creature whose image graces the watch's reverse side. The dial conveniently features a date window nestled between the 4 and 5 markers and is powered by the reliable SISTEM51 mechanism.
Step into the vibrant world of the PACIFIC OCEAN timepiece. Drawing inspiration from the luminous Chromodoris Kuiteri fish, native to the world's largest ocean, this watch dazzles with a gleaming yellow-orange casing. The strap, crafted from rejuvenated fishing nets, pairs exquisitely with a contrasting black and white dial. Conveniently, a date window is situated between the 4 and 5 markers, and underpinning its precise functionality is the trusted SISTEM51 movement.
